Before your treatment
A little preparation makes a big difference. Depending on the pest and service, please:
- Kitchen & bathroom: clear items from bench tops and, where advised, empty lower cabinets. Refrigerate or seal away uncovered food, and clean grease from surfaces.
- Floors: pick up loose items — toys, clothing, pet food and bowls — and vacuum, especially for flea and general treatments.
- Bed bugs: strip all bedding into sealed bags and wash/dry on the hottest setting the fabric allows; leave beds accessible so we can treat frames and mattresses.
- Pets: move fish tanks away from treatment areas, cover them and switch off the air pump during treatment; keep cats, dogs and birds out of treated rooms until surfaces are dry.
- Access: move furniture a little away from walls and skirting boards so we can reach harbourage areas, and make sure roof/subfloor access is clear if relevant.
Staying out during treatment
Where a vacancy period is advised, please keep people and pets out of the treated areas for that time. Infants, pregnant women and anyone with respiratory conditions should allow extra time before returning, and open windows and doors for a while when you re-enter.
After your treatment
- Give it time: avoid mopping or wet-cleaning treated surfaces, skirting boards and corners for around two weeks so the treatment isn't removed. Dry dusting is fine.
- Don't disturb any gels, baits, dusts, traps or monitoring stations we've placed — they're doing the work.
- Expect a short spike: you may see more activity for 7–14 days as pests are flushed out and pick up the treatment. Cockroach and ant control can take up to about six weeks for full effect.
- Cleaning: wipe food-preparation surfaces before use, and wash pet bowls, bedding and children's items before returning them to treated rooms.
- Sweep up any dead insects with gloves and dispose of them in a sealed bag.
Safety & compliance
We use licensed, APVMA-approved products applied by trained technicians, and we follow the label and Australian standards. In case of accidental exposure, contact the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 (24 hours). If you rent, please let your landlord or property manager know about the treatment.
Follow-up cover
Some pests need more than one visit. Where follow-up cover is included with your service, it applies provided these instructions are followed. If activity continues beyond the expected timeframe, call us and we'll arrange a return visit.
